Back from Milano

16 03 2009

It’s Monday evening, there’s nothing on TV and I am once again playing with my iPhone. Another oportunity to start blogging again as I haven’t done it in a long while and I feel I should do it more often. So I downloaded the WordPress application for my iPhone and here is attempt number 10.654.433 to start a regular blog.

Reason I don’t even feel like getting off my couch is the fact that I spent last weekend in Milan, Italy and didn’t have any time to relax! I am knackered at the moment! Friday morning really early Peter and I left for Milan, ready for a weekend full of shopping and clubbing. As it was a sleazyJet flight with no pre-configured seating we almost had to sit separately! But luckely enough we found a nice spot and off we went!

We arrived at Milan Malpensa, put on our big Italian-style sunglasses and took a train into town! I tend to think that when I cross a border I can talk freely without having anyone understanding what I say, so Peter and I were discussing our favourite Czech pornmovies and describing specific scenes before we realized there was a Dutch couple sitting next to us! Well at least if they ever had a stereotype gay we just proved them right!

After getting into the city we dumped our heavy suitcase in the hotel (who needs 23 kilos for 2 days?) and hit town. Our hotel was on Corso Buenos Aires, a big shopping street and we walked our way to the famous Duomo. We scored a pizza and went on to the castle. Since the weather was great we lied in the grass for an hour working our tan. We did some windowshopping and went back to relax and get ourselves prepared for the night.

After having a lovely dinner with some good Italian wine we went to the hotel to have some drinks in our room! We were a bit too enthousiastic on the Gin & Tonic and went to the first bar already drunk! After drinks at Mono we went to Lelephant which was a lot nicer and everybody was standing outside with their cocktail. There I asked a local where we should go next! Lucca told us that That’s All at the Rolling Stone was the place to be. First we went to Afterline, a dodgy place with an even dodgier drag queen near the central station, quite a dangerous area too. The bar was bad and quickly we took a cab to the Rolling Stone. That club made our trip to Milan worthwile right away! What a huge club with awesome music and beautiful men! It was big, loud and it rocked! There we met the receptionists from our hotel Daniella and Matteo. They were super friendly and a lot of fun and with them we danced and drank the night away.

Next morning a hangover from hell! But what better solution than a nice breakfast and shopping! So we went shopping and in the afternoon we went to the trendy area Navigli. I went back to the hotel to sleep for an hour while Peter shopped some more. Then dinner again and the same ritual as the previous night, Gin & Tonic and to mono where we met Matteo again after he finished work. The place to be on Saturday is Billy at club Amnesia. Another great night! Pumping music, beautiful people and a great vibe! But also bloody expensive! Here we danced the night away again.

Sunday was our last day and with an accumulated hangover from hell we went for breakfast and yes, some more shopping! To finish our stay we had some real nice Italian icecream and enjoyed the warm sun! Then back to the airport without any energy left in my body.

It was a perfect weekend! Milan is not a beautiful city for sightseeing but that’s a good thing! At least u don’t need to feel guilty when you go shopping, clubbing and sleep till late! So I would reccomend this city to anyone! I was in Prague a month ago which is beautiful but since there is so much to see you have no energy left to go clubbing at night. I am going to Paris in 2 weeks and seen everything already so at least this time I will get to enjoy Paris as it should, shopping, eating, relaxing, strawling along the boulevards and checking the bars.

Hmmm iPhone battery almost empty… They really should improve the iPhones battery!

Good night everyone!
